Patina
« on: April 02, 2020, 07:10:24 PM »
Just found this gem on eBay. Seller states "Incredible Patina". Looks to me like bad red paint peeling off. Somebody ruined an AE 40 with a really bad paint job and now it is Patina!

I prescribe a large dose of paint stripper to fix those nasty red sores.

Seller says it looks like Hitler’s phone which sold for $243,000.

The resemblance is uncanny.  ;D

There's a sucker born every minute is the phrase that comes into mind...
Well that applies to both of the deals.

Here is a phrase that makes me shake my head every time I see it, and it is catching on among sellers.

Has no meaning at all...

"condition is used"

"Used" is NOT a condition.

I have some older phones that I want to keep with the patina of years of use, but it is a pint of too much, and the nit has to be restored  back closer to original/new look.

To be a good seller may be using words in a different manner.

If I see an ad were they sell a house with potential, I know that you have to do a lot with it, so maybe this should have been sold as a vintage phone with a great potential??
