Southern Bell T&T Sign
« on: November 04, 2014, 10:10:54 AM »
Just won this on eBay. Surprisingly this has been, for me at least, a tough sign to find in good condition. What makes this one desirable apart from it's condition is that it is the flat version with the wide white border which is the earlier production of the '21 Bell signs. Also this one has an inspection mark on the back.

Do you know which year this was made or the period for which it was current?

The Bell logo is known as the 1921 Bell. It was used by the Bell System from 1921 to 1939.

Ah, yes, I should have known the year.
I have the generic version as an image.
Not as nice as this in color.

Nice one!  I like the flat ones, they are so much easier to display than the flanges.  I have gone through three NET&T versions, each one better than the previous.  I'm still looking for the perfect one.

And this version is the Public Telephone Sign No. 2 , 11"x11" single-faced flat.

I am learning.
