It even says so on the laminate battery compartment closures.

Neither my 616 or 308 have that piece over the battery compartment, makes them seem "incomplete" now...  ;D

It's definitely a must-have piece for the precision collector.

2CV, re-pop 'em ,sell 'em on epay. ;)

Now I'll have to look, and see if my 616 has one, lol! I might be a potential customer. :D

Best regards!

>>EDIT: Yepper, mine's got the tag, somewhere between 'minty', and NOS' 8) <<

Neither my 616 or 308 have the battery cover either. Didn't even know they came with one :)   Of course neither unit was bought new.

Just a comment on the batteries. I would never put a used battery in anything, except in an emergency. A nicad cell which has been used  may already have dendrites (which cause its tendancy to have a memory inside caused by improper charging/useage: think of a dendrite as a root which grows from one layer to the other, which can short out the cell)

However, I have used a number of NOS Nicads which were outdated and in the original packaging that have been kept in good storage and I have found they last just as long as fresh stock.

Just my personal experience...

Dave

Battery Bob will ship to Canada but you have to pay shipping.

Screen captures of the 308/616 Battery and their shipping policy.

I submitted a question on availability and shipping to Canada. Will add to this when they reply.

Ah, that's why to item page comes up with a 404 Error but the battery can still be accessed by search and it finds the "Question" page. No need to wait for a reply from him since we now know the answer.
