Found this one on Kijiji.

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-art-collectibles/kingston-on/an-example-of-hippie-era-telephone/1219803993?

Hideous ! really :( . just removing the stickers and you'll have a nice one ...I hope it's just stickers. Otherwise, if it's craft painting, it's not easy to remove it.

EDIT : After seeing the link, it's hand painted  >:(

Seller called this TP-6-A a "Vintage Signal Corps US Army Rotary Phone" which it is but I don't think the Army used masking tape to stripe it red. And why the external ringer? Army didn't use frequency or harmonic ringers, did they? Or 20 PPS dials, did they? Doesn't look like a metal housing (embossed lettering) so no chrome for this one.

Anyway, nice price for two items if you have paint stripper and some spare time and some spare cords and . . .

What were they thinking???

Their description:

1968 Denim Shabby Chic Princess

The ultimate in shabby chic, working telephone in a beautiful blue floral denim.
This telephone is made in Canada by Northern Electric. Stamped NE 702B,1968.
Selling this as a working telephone, this was tested and has a jack plug in.
Very good condition but not perfect, ear and mouth pieces are slightly discolorated.

Camouflage tape!

Insert generic Jeff Foxworthy "you might be a redneck" joke here...

Am I the only one tempted to get an ugly-fied phone just for the heck of it? Certainly would make my others look better by association.

That would make for a nice thread about the road back from being uglied up.
