AE Styleline Promotional Kit
« on: June 28, 2015, 10:16:09 AM »
This was a promotional kit Ae came out with when they introduced the Styleline telephone. It consists of a folder, with several black and white photographs. It is missing some of the promotional items mentioned on page 1. No idea when it was printed. Cover:

Thanks, Dave, for posting this. It's interesting to see how much their advertising looks just like the WE ads for the Trimline done in the late 1960s, with beautiful women and fashion models. AE obviously copied the Trimline and the ads for it. It was kind of blatant how they did that without getting sued.

I found a few examples online of Trimline ads from the 60s below.

I don't know if one can fairly say they "copied" WE's ads. This was fairly typical advertising in the 60s and 70s. Almost always pretty women holding the item for sale.

For example, the Centurion Ads in the NE T-9 catalogue (and others) outside of the telephone industry....

I got a kick out of the telephone trainer.

Can't imagine having to train someone to answer the phone...

...but then with all of the young folks texting, we may have to do that for the next generation ;-)
