The Hopeful (and lucky) Ebayer
« on: January 11, 2016, 10:39:39 PM »
After Doug Rose pointing out some ebay insanity - http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=15481.msg160875#msg160875 - it had me wondering about some of the listings I've stumbled across.

It doesn't matter what category you look for, you will always find a seller who either truly believes their item is worth a kagillion Dollars or is hoping for some clueless rube to come along and either place a bid or buy.

Here's a '67 500 with the seller hoping to snag an eye-popping $175.

Pic below for posterity.

I'm sure that you have seen more of them, and chuckled to yourself after seeing the asking price.

We all enjoy a good chuckle, so bring 'em on!

What is even more strange is when it sells for the asking price.  It seems I recall recently an early 70s Red 500, nothing special or rare, that went for a high dollar amount.

What's that saying, "It's worth what the buyer wants to pay for it." with that being said. Does that mean there is a buyer out there that will pay top dollars for mine. If so, coffees on me.  :)

The Ebayer didn't bother to screw the caps off and clean some of the grunge off, for the price....

Exactly!  Don't people take pride in what they are selling anymore?
