I've seen this in ebay, anybody know what is its use

It's listed incorrectly.  It's actually a radio speaker from the 1920s.

WOW, surprised it didn't go for more. Anything radio related with W.E. on it, usually attracts the serious bidders from the woodwork. Including our east-Asia friends.
