If it's anything like my Aladdin 37 heater, it'll definitely throw some heat out, that thing is amazing at turning a cold shed into a nice warm space for working in during the colder months...

As for the burner, it basically is a lamp, but without the mantle, the overall design of it is not that different to the mantle lamps either, it just wider in size (2 inch diameter wick as opposed to 1" of the lamps, smaller than the 37 though which uses a 3" wick), the rest of it, it's basically just a lamp burner...

And the way it heats, it's a combination of convection and radiation, the hot air from the flame rises through the heater and is released into the room, but also heats up the metalwork of the heater, providing a nice warm zone around itself like a radiator, though unlike the 37, you can't sit a pan on top of it and cook up a steak...
