Hello:

We got sidetracked on the ringer box, but the replacement NE 22 lock and key arrived and I affixed it to the vault door: success story. (I even took advantage of the fact that the phone was off the wall so I could paint behind it, in preparation for painting the white wall turquoise like the other three in the room.)

Interesting to note that the NE 22 lock cylinder isn't flush with the surface of the door like the 30C was; it is recessed a bit and doesn't quite look as good. Just me being neurotic, as I'm sure none of my house guests would ever wander down to the cave and say, "Hey...this lock looks weird. I'm leaving!" Similarly, none will ever note that the 233 has been rewired to work outside of a network.

I hope.

Interesting story.
I like the history that often comes with phones. 8)
