I got my 684 Subset up and running finally.  I swapped out the bad 146 coil for a good 101A I purchased online.  The 101A came with a good capacitor, so I was able to swap out capacitors, too.  I connected the D1/202 with the 5H dial and F1 handset, using a temporary mounting cord, as I didn't have a cloth four wire cord handy, and it works fine:
