Saved some Millennium's from the scrap pile.
« on: October 05, 2018, 11:21:37 PM »
I picked up 14 Millennium's that were going to the scrap pile. It was a 9 hour round trip to Montreal and back to get them, but it was worth it. I got them from a scrap surplus guy. Some have the vault keys, but no upper keys. I even got two prison phones. A couple of the phones had been started to be taken apart for scrap, I got those too.

Real nice haul Doug !!   Where are you going to put the "Central Office" when you buy it ?   ;D     But seriously, it's nice to know those sets won't be going to a dump somewhere to get driven over by a D-9 Cat and buried for good.

Thanks guys,

I just spent the last two days opening these 14 phones. They are now all open with locks removed. I think I'm getting carpal tunnel. LOL

I gave one of the phones a make over, just had to do it. Now I have to find a white or blue handset.

I got the marquee finished. The Toronto Maple Leafs is permanent, it just stays on and the marquee will say the go leafs go is scrolling, the Leafs Nation is a flash on.

And those were just being tossed?  Wow

How hard is it to convert them to home use?

Very easy as long as you know the right person.  :)
