Could this phone been made for the French market. There are similar looking French candlesticks.....

In my experience of phones in France, unlikely. But Belgium is a possibility....

.....These were not popular in Germany, Fuld's home market....

I would think still more likely they were made for their home market, but due to its lack of sales not many were produced compared to their other models.

This one sold for EUR 161 - it could do with a touch-up.

In fact the phone appears in a 1932 Fuld catalog, but not in the 1935 edition. By this time the company had been renamed into NTT, later TN

Also available in 1924 (schwarz oder vernickelt)

But I think he referrers to column type telephones in general as the Hochständer, to my knowledge, was not used in "anglophonen Raum" or in France.

It made whopping 637.77 Euro. It seems it went to a german buyer, but not to me. Not my kind of price tag  8)
