We were out in Greenville Michigan today,  and we picked up 2 phones today

What I believe is a Western Electric 202 with subset correct me if im wrong,   and then some sort of Arabic Phone,  never seen anything like it before.

Got the 202? for 30 bucks and the Arabic Phone for $20

the Arabic phone is a pretty cool find. You should put it in the find of the month.

I have an interesting WE 2500 with an Arabic tt pad. I will try to pull it out and take a photo.

That Arabic phone looks like a British GPO 746 with an Arabic number ring.
I would expect it was made under license.
Some photos of the base and insides would confirm, but the case dial and handset are certainly GPO pattern.

Here is the set I mentioned. It is a Western Electric X2500DMB set in blue.

The photos were upright when posted, I rotated the images and reposted them and they are still sideways. Sorry about that.

Out of curiosity, what do the housing and handset say?

A phone phanatic since I was less than 2 (thanks to Fisher Price); collector since a teenager; now able to afford to play!
Favorite Phone: Western Electric Trimline - it just feels right holding it up to my face!

Thanks for asking, I meant to point out it is marked Western Electric on the plastics.

My impression is that it was used in an American area within an Arabian area.
I have wondered if this was used in an a place like an embassy or American "man camp" (construction camp).
Just a guess regarding the TT pad.. A buddy of mine bought it at a local thrift store in Colorado Springs, CO.
