French Telephone Sign
« on: October 20, 2020, 09:25:53 AM »
Recently picked up this French telephone sign. Octagon. Blue/white enamel. Fairly heavy, slightly concave to rim.

I have only seen these inside (cafés/restaurants/bars), to indicate a nearby public telephone (payphone). As I understand it there were two designs/manufacturers of these, but I stand to be corrected as I continue to learn.

Interesting, I haven’t come across one with the mounting holes in that position. Could you add a photo of the reverse to your post above?

Two photos of the similar design I know of, and another example same as mine (from Internet).
