I hooked up dial tone t L1 and L2 and it rings. Handset had no cord so I attached per Wiring Diagram

Hookswitch seems to do nothing, pressing the Bakelite button will stop phone from ringing but no connection. AS i release the button I get a second of audio from call then nothing. I can also get a second of dial tone with pressing the button.

I know its a mag, but trying to get it to work to answer incoming. Any ideas?

this is a local battery set. you will need to make changes to the wiring to make it work

Add a capacitor in series with ringer. Add a 3 VDC or 4.5 VDC battery or wall wart to the 2 BATT terminals Don't crank if phone is connected.
