This eBay seller thinks that the Liberty Bell is a telephone.

How can we go from one generation to the next, where the next generation doesn't know the difference between a telephone and the Liberty bell.
It even has several clues, 1976, Philadelphia, bell, the crack. Well one out of four isn't bad, they probably recognize CRACK...

Oh! Oh! I get it now, They can relate Bell, Bell System, Telephone.. ::) ::) ::)
But Not 1976, Philadelphia, Bell, crack ??
Too bad they didn't have reruns of Davey Crockett, they would have known then.

I'm not all knowing, but I consider myself well read, but most of what I've learned throughout my life was not from being in a classroom all day long, in fact I disliked school, and did rather poorly at it. I just paid attention to what was going on around me. We didn't have instant network search, cable etc.
It just seems to me that kids now are so overwhelmed with War, and terrorism, that they just don't seem to have any hope for the future, so why bother.

However you will notice that the Tom's in the world Get it....

That's ok, I got a better one (see below).

I sent the seller a message pointing out that the image is not a telephone, it's the Liberty Bell.  Here's the response, including my original message:

Looks like my post got deleted.  But D/P, it's funny you mention the Davey Crockett thing.  As soon as I saw the liberty bell my mind was going "And patched up the crack in the liberty bell. Davey Davey Crockett, king of the wild frontier"
I am a lineman for the county and I drive the main roads. Searchin' in the sun for another overload.  I hear you singin' in the wires, I can hear you through the whine, and the Witchita Lineman is still on the line.

Tom & Briny, I'm sorry about deleting your comment.  I was trying to split the topic and I removed those by accident.  Hopefully you can recreate your comments.  Pilot error on my part. :(
