I just wired my all matching dates 12-65 green set in last night .I pick up the handset to call and I get dial tone I stand up and the sound goes out. I tapped it on the side where the network is and it worked fine. And I also hear a bit of static when my finger hits the finger stop. It was working fine the other day.

Sounds like a connection that was not tightened down with the screwdriver. Remember to always double check those things before putting the cover back on.

Yeah I second that. Last week my black Princess phone quit ringing most of the time, and upon opening it up and expecting the worst it turned out to be nothing more than a loose screw on the network.

all of the contacts on the handset cord were loose

Sometimes I think that I have a screw loose. Most of my friends think so when they see 50 phones in my house
