Need help with Payphone and newbie here.

Hi, I apologize if this doesn't belong here but I reclenty bought a Western Electric Payphone from a flea market a couple of days ago and it came with everything needed to open up and it was in working order.  I got the phone home and I just collected my money three times (if I am not mistaking don't wanna make it a lie). And today when I went to collect my money the vault door is not opening.  The side lock had been removed and I see the bars moving but the vault door is not opening.  Even when there are no bars visible from the sides sticking out it's not opening.  What does anybody recommend?
