The Amazing No. 4 Dials
« on: November 24, 2008, 12:31:01 AM »
Anybody see the closing prices of the slew of dials that sold tonight?  Here are the No. 4 dials:

> 4H - II 35 - $80 <

> 4H - IV 31 - $71 <

And a bit more reasonable:

> 4H - III 34? - $43 <

> 4H - ? - $41 <

Ouch!  I found another 4H dial.  What's interesting is the ad by the same seller for a metal 302 housing where it says that that the complete phone was in good working order when disassembled.
Are people taking them apart and selling the parts individually?  Tell me it isn't so. :P

Yeah it looks like it was parted out.  Sad.

And here I was, feeling guilty about taking the 4H dial from my 302 and putting it in my 202.  Now I don't feel so bad.  At least my 302 wasn't in perfect working order.

It almost looks like one of the early 1937 versions with the slightly wider cradle. Would be a shame if that was so :-\
