SC 1211 "Bat Phone"

Stromberg Carlson 1211 "Bat Phone." I purchased this on eBay. It is only the 4th or 5th non-WECo phone in my collection. I got it because it was in good shape and it can occupy a blank space in a hanging display. It is all Bakelite. The only thing I did beside waxing it was to replace a frayed cord. I think it was from the 1930s or 40s.

Oh.  That's a cool phone.  But from the message description, I was picturing something more like this:
