Those "upgraded" phones appear occasionally.  I recently saw one which had a serious crack caused b the "upgrade"  Those phones are beautiful and possibly the most fragile ever made.  I have three of those shells, all with some chips and/or cracks.

If you don't want to make your own, you can get one whenever you wish from the Knappens.  They've been cranking them out for many years.  They also put dials on K700s, SC1197s and probably just about any other manual bakelite set out there.
