this 2500D is my 1st red phone and came with an original round 4 prong plug on the line cord.

yes the original plug is a great extra....i'm hoping to connect up the ivory junction box to a british-type line cord & keep the authentic set-up. i have a temporary cord on the phone at the moment.

nb........does anyone have any good ideas on how to clean up the marks on the dial-buttons ?

i'll try the electric toothbrush i think, with a a soft old brush on it .....& a smidgeon of novus.

That tends to happen to TT keypad buttons.  I do not know why, but it is common.  Some careful polishing with plastic polish might help.
