As usual for me probably too much - $229.39 - although this is a rare early beveled edge transmitter.
Now I just have to find a phone to put it on, can't leave it on this:

The transmitter is worth around $200 itself, and the rest of the phone is worth about $50-60.  Not bad.  If I had noticed it I probably would have bought it for that price.

On newer WE phones, D and F numbers seem to indicate a small production run.
I wonder if this is a from a small production run?

Given the number of transmitters available - high current, low current, ultra sensitive, etc, one wonders what new variation would warrant a special production run at all.

I was thinking of  proto-type/field trial reasons.

Same comment really, after all the time and all the transmitters, what else is there to test?

This one is on a 20AL with 1915 patent on base so not necessarily original to the phone.

I was reading through old posts and ran across this one today with WDS showing his D6432 transmitter.
I thought I would attach a copy of the D-spec in 1914 explaining the reason behind this transmitter. It appears to refer to the bell housing.
Hopefully it will help as documentation to any other collectors that might have this same transmitter.
