Let me start out by saying that I don't collect anymore. I got rid of my phones and 99 percent of my parts in the "GREAT DOWNSIZE of 2024" I now only have 4. A WE 151al, WE D1, AE 40, AE 90 all in land line use.
I was at Columbus flea market in Columbus NJ this morning and I just could not pass this up!
B1 base
1935 f1 transmitter element
132A number ring
2HA dial
E1 handset
Has a #61?(maybe) Filter inside
95% of its original paint
It has no other markings inside so this may be an unmolested phone.

$20

I can't remember but wasn't this mated to a 534A subset? (got rid of one in the "DOWNSIZE")
Seems to work fine connected to my last 634A subset (has better sound than the D1 receiver too!)

Now replacing the D1 in the spare bedroom.

There's no way you could pass that one up, especially with a 2HA dial on it!

Is the number plate notched?

Yes, these were paired with 534, and even the wooden subsets, but works great with later anti-side-tone subsets.

No it has 3 pins on the back and is stamped 132A.

Could it be used today to dial out?
Connected to a modern telephone's network to make it work?

As a radio HAM, I must ask: What does anti-side-tone mean?
Thank you.
I'd take an educated guess but am unqualified.
In paramediclass, doctor asked me signs of Alzheimers.  "I forget.", I answered.

Lighted Princess® telephones are our favorites!

To ensure an emergent transport call, I need only:
- take first sip of beer when eating pizza
- start shampooing in the shower
- pull bed covers over and get warm and cozy
- begin my OCD oil change.  (Remove oil plug to drain overnight.)

That is a nice find and a terrific bargain. I walk into antique venues and flea markets with little hope of finding anything particularly good, but you never know what you might run into.

If it has a four-conductor desk set cord on it, it is wired as a 202 and can be used normally with either a 634 (anti-sidetone) or 534 (sidetone) box, insulating and storing the unused black lead in the latter case. If it has a three-conductor cord, that makes it a sidetone 102 and it would preferably be used with a sidetone subset. There were official circuits for wiring a sidetone desk set to an anti-sidetone subset, as discussed in this thread, but they were stopgaps due to wartime equipment shortages, not intended as fully equivalent to using a normal sidetone circuit.

It has a 3 wire subset cord, (I thought that was strange). So i guess it is a 102. Thanks for the info!

Right now it is connected to a 634A subset and it does work as intended on my landline. As far as anti-side tone/side tone  TelePlay has posted a link on the subject in this thread'

I don't know how you currently have it hooked up, but in lieu of using a sidetone subset, I'd either (a) change the connections inside the subset to conform to this diagram in the thread I linked (again, it won't work exactly like a proper sidetone circuit using a sidetone subset, but close enough), or (b) replace the three-wire cord with a four-wire cord to make it a 202 and permit a normal anti-sidetone circuit. Unlike with candlesticks, the addition of the fourth black conductor in the cord, connected to BK on the dial (or BK on the hookswitch in a manual set), is literally the only difference between a 202 and 102.
