Plastic AE Dial

I've never seen one of these before. Am AE "Type 24" dial with plastic working parts (plastic gears, plastic governor race and plastic governor shaft set screw).

Seller is asking $16.50 plus $7.30 shipping (won't sell at free).

Seller description is "Vintage telephone rotary dial made by AE CO (Made in the USA).  Something is wrong with the spring on the back so it is sold as is.  Same or next day shipping."

The last image is the "spring" that has something wrong with it. Someone had to go out of their way to make it that wrong.

The big problem with the dial, the shunt and pulse pileups are missing.

And I wonder how much of the dialing mechanism under the number plate, the ratcheting components, are plastic?

Anyone know what year these began to replace the "all metal parts" dials?

I have a later "GTE AE" dial with the same plastic parts.  Being that someone has obviously been messing with this dial, perhaps they expropriated the original non-plastic parts while they were appropriating the missing parts and put the plastic parts from a later dial into this dial.  Once I see that something has been tampered with, I don't trust anything else about it.

These were later from the 70s . The dials on the type 80 e sets had even more plastic parts .That dial is still worth repairing with earlier brass parts. Older type 80 sets would have good parts to fix most AE dials
