Just stumbled across this thread.  That was one of my favorite shows.  It was on The Learning Channel, a cable station acquired by Discovery.  You Tube carries episodes of the series.  I especially liked the ones on tape recording and fax transmission.  That series and James Burke's Connections were great television.
