Title: Which WE # dial is this?

Can you guys confirm from this image which dial this is?

I guessed at 4H (shape of finger stop, Z over operator).

Absolutely no way that I know of to tell a #4 from #5 by a photo like that, but an educated guess by looking at the fingerstop, I would say #5 dial. The fingerstop just looks a little too "new" (sharp corners, etc) to be on a (earlier) #4.

Number plate is III 40 - II 53. (See rounded "D.")
Number card and handset cord are reproductions.
Finger stop is pre 9-45.

Probably #5, but could be #4.  If you can show us the back side, we can tell for sure.

I see those number plate on 4 and 5 dials but the finger stop looks like a No 4.

To be certain though, I'd need to see the back.

Real number cards (such as the E1164) have perforated lines so that they may be used on 128-type number card holders for desk stands or 533A wall phones.

I meant number plate - I corrected it.

isin't there a vermillion stamp on the back of the dial showing what model it is?

If there was a view of the rear the question wouldn't have arisen.

Jack is correct, just the one photo to try and identify the dial, but that's how it goes sometimes.
