I just got my first metal 302, and all dates matching 1941 model for twenty bucks!

It has cloth cords which are very dirty, but the rubber conducters are in very good shape. I was wondering if I could use something other than woolite to clean them, possibly just common tide liquid detergent? Just trying to keep costs down and use what I already have at hand here.

By the way, just a thought maybe "Coiled Cord Repair and Cleaning" could be changed to something a litlle more inclusive like "Handset and Line Cord Repair and Cleaning"? Just a thought, the current name kind of leaves cloth cords and line cords out in the cold.
