I recently found this beauty on eBay and managed to get it for a $40 Best Offer.  The ringer is apparently an early Western Electric from the 1880s.  It is not marked, indicating that it was sold outside the American Bell Telephone Co. There is a patent date stamped on the ringer armature. The posts are early type used by WE's Chicago plant.  The box is similar to a TYPE 40/TYPE 43P with the short 80 ohm ringer.  Based on the marking I assume this one is a TYPE 42.
