Now, Here is a contender for Find of the Month...
A Stromberg 896B I believe. Someone tell me if you see anything wrong.
I found in an Antique shop for $121
It is in great shape, The Rec is very different, as the cap holds the element, and the handle unscrews from it.
A little beat up, but no cracks, and will clean up nicely.
The Gen has been replaced by a 3 bar, and was miss wired.
The Hook looks original, and is bent a bit.
The Ringer works, but hangs loosely.
Does anybody know how these ringers were originally mounted?
The xmitter, is a Kellogg??? and was not connected.
I could tell by touch/hearing, that the element still functioned in the store, but had to dis assemble, and rout the wires back through the swivel.
That was interesting. Today's forks, would never fit through the holes.
Back together, and test. Wow!!! it works great.
I am so impressed with this phone, even with the price I paid, it looks and works very nice!
Just gotta mount the ringer correctly, clean the threads on the Rec, and bend the crank straight.
A little cleaning, and a line cord, and she is ready to take her place on the system.
Truly a beautiful phone! And a Blessing to find in such clean condition.

The ringer is held in with screws that are hidden under the gongs. You will need a SC transmitter and mounting cup to replace the Kellogg if you want to restore it.

You should be thrilled....a beautiful phone, great value!

Sellers tend to over value them, IMO.

I have 2 on my display and one is just a beautiful display only.

Enjoy!
