Some elements of this look right, others, such as the plastic wiring, lack of any sign of a schematic being attached, and the rear of dial (which I haven't seen looking quite like this on one of these 121 models), make me think either repro or altered. Could even be a late refurb.

Could I have a second opinion or three please? Thanks.

That is a modified Bellset. It was not made by a telephone company workshop such as the GPO workshops.

I don't know what the outside looks like but I assume there is a transmitter on the front. That would make the wiring, the hinges, the hook switch the dial and its mount wrong.

Thanks. Many of these were converted Bellsets but this one looks odd, I can put some of it right, eg cloth wiring, schematic, endcap, but might be one to swerve? Was wondering if this was meant to be a #77?

Am trying to get more photos, this of front.

I'm certain that is home made. Or at least made by one of the 1970s manufacturers of "antique" telephones.

The dial mount is from a switchboard.

A mixture of old, new, and what was available.
Certainly a very well done makeover.
very clean!
Can still be improved upon.
No limits, it is not original anyway, so have fun makin it your own.

Thanks guys. I'll keep a watch on it, but may make like Finger Mouse, and swerve.  ;D

A difference I have noticed when I was collecting compact wood phones :
A ringer box typically has front bells, a compact wood typically has top bells.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Regarding this phone:
I think this set was created.
The dial was added, the door may  of been switched out and  top bells drilled in.
Just opinions,
Jim
