Just picked up this GPO #1 Wall phone.  It's in great shape, and actually works.  The British website ways these were made by Western Electric, in Belgium.  Great addition to my wood phones.

Dare one ask ... was it a bargain, or an investment?

Considering how much the Western Electric and other fiddlesticks cost, I thought it was a bargain (and an investment).  $150 including shipping.

Very fair indeed.

Looks similar to a TYPE 85, which normally sell for $250-400 on eBay

I picked up another one, this one with a dial, and an interesting transmitter arm.  Has anyone seen an arm like this?

Dave....I think this was called a swing away arm or something similar. It is just an outstanding phone. You have posted some amazing phones and this is certainly one of the best!!!...Doug

found a picture of an Ericsson wall phone with this transmitter arm.  I was wondering if it might have been an aftermarket arm, but apparently it's original.
