I have had this mouthpiece for a long time. I picked up a Kellogg stick on the cheap with a broken MP, so I added this guy. Kellogg threads, screwed in easily. Thing that caught my attention is the hole. Looks like a grate might have been glued over it. I  removed the white remnants after the pic. Just curious, anyone seen a MP like this?....Doug

this is similar but there is no back to the MP. It is just a hole and very smooth. Its was on a WE stick, so it just means it has WE threads. Anyone see one like this??...Doug

For us not quite so local members, could you explain please:

Grate?
What was the Grate made from?
What glue would have originally been used?
Why a glued on grate, no back? Why not fully molded?

Thanks.

CJ...the back of the mouthpieces usually has holes in it and it is a solid piece.

WE mouth pieces usually have a star in the middles of the holes, looks like a grate.

The WE MP has nothing, just a hole and smooth.

The Kellogg has a smaller hole with a substance that looked like like, like something "was" glued in there....Doug

Here is the mouthpiece on the transmitter which was a 323 and re-stamped a a 337. You can see the vermillion of 2 46 on the transmitter. Late in the game for this transmitter, they would have been a Bull Dog.

This was a type 22 with the screw in the side, but did not match on the inside  :(

Now its a display phone, but kinda cool  8)....Doug

Almost looks kind of majestic from the side with the blk/brass/black repeat all the way down.
Oh wait, I thot the back of the transmitter was brass too, but it must be a reflect??
That would have made it look real good ;)
If you can find a brass pipe screen, or some other delicate brass piece, a little hot glue, and a nice temp spruce up.

I have a WE the same way, sadly it is chipped.   I was once told that this style of MPC was used on early telephones. Don't know if this is true or not.

Thanks Vern...it is definitely different....Doug

What does that transmitter look like with the mouthpiece removed?
