My birthday, or at least birth-month, telephone seems to have turned up.  http://tinyurl.com/43kxxp3  I do not intend to bid for it.

Looks like it's been "modularized".  At least the handset cord looks like a modular cord.

My birthday phone as well stephen! Not an AE though, and if it was it wouldn,t likely have a date on it!

You can tell it came through the refurb shop by the paint on the bottom too. I think you need to wait on a better phone to come along. Hopefully it will be cheaper too. The only parts likely to date from 5-57 on this phone are the chassis items.
