Just stopping by to say hello to this community. I have visited as a lurker a few times in the past but thought I might as well register.

I like older products that are built to last so after going through a few cheap telephones throughout the mid-90s and 2000s, that always ended up having problems, I remembered that the old rotary phones were pretty much indestructible. Since I was on VOIP I decided to grab a WE Model 2500 (refurbished by AT&T in 1993 and sitting in its box for almost 20 years until it was put on eBay), that has been my main phone for the last 10+ years.

Lately my parents told me they still had their old Model 500s originally rented from Bell Canada in the late 70s and perhaps one purchased from Bell in the 80s but stopped using them since they switched to Vonage, so before they throw them away I offered to save them and I will add a Rotatone in one of them and continue to use it for, hopefully, another 40 years.

I won't be one of those members with thousands of posting but I hope to have interesting conversations with all of you.

Cheers!

Olivier

WELCOME! As you probably already know you have found the best forum on the net. We LOVE pictures. Got any of your phones? Also it sounds like you may be contracting Phoneitis. Be careful! All of us here have it. Hopefully you can resist the urge to get more phones or maybe some accessories. Have fun ;D

I'll make sure to post a few pictures when I grab the 500s, but in the meantime here's my 2500!
