Howdy!

Howdy, everyone!

I'm new around here and wanted to introduce myself.

As a youngster, I was always fascinated with the telephone. I remember tearing apart a WE 2500 with my father's screwdriver before I was 5 years old.

Fast forward, I spent several years employed as a corporate telecom analyst, managing multiple PBXes and KSUs and related equipment for multiple sites. It was a position I loved. I was paid to play with phones.  Although most of our systems were digital and VoIP, it was still fun dealing day to day administration and internal dialing plan design.

Now I have found myself at a point in my life where I am collecting older phones, specifically rotary dial phones.  I am attempting to get each back in service and functional using some Grandstream ATAs and a mix of Asterisk and small KSUs. My new (re-newed) hobby has lead me to Classic Rotary Phones. I am finding it is a full of useful knowledge and friendly conversation.

Expect posts from me about my multiple WE 302s and 500s.  I also came into possession of an old Ericson PTT phone that I have yet to fully identify that needs some repairs, but that will be a future  post in another section of the forum.

Welcome! You have found the best forum on the net. Just full of friendly knowledgeable people who love to help. Also love pictures! It looks like you contracted Phonitis at a very young age. It can go into remission but it is incurable. Let's see your phones!

Thanks for the warm welcome!  As you both mentioned wanting some pics of my phones, I posted some Ralf's Small, but Growing, Collection on the forum.

Welcome, friend.  As you probably know, the phone companies are trying to discontinue traditional phone service, so it would be nice if you would order new service to your house, if it is still available in your area.  If enough people refuse to surrender their service, the phone companies will relent, as long as they are making a profit on it, but if the number of subscribers dips below a certain point, it will become a money loser, which will prompt them to discontinue it.
