Imagine sporting a 97.4% feedback rating simply because you sold something to this intellectual.

Calling that buyer dumb is being nice.

The listing does say "CD" and the description says it's 5 catalogs.

Can't you contest the negative feedback with eBay? Given the circumstances, I do believe eBay will remove that feedback.

To clarify, I'm not the seller. I just happened to see this featured in the feedback section at the bottom of one of the seller's current listings, and thought it was entertaining enough to post. It's my understanding as well that sellers can dispute negative feedback with eBay, but this seller may not know that or was unsuccessful.

The exact listing the buyer purchased is no longer accessible, but as you picture (and also linked below), the seller's most recent iteration of the listing is still in the completed listings. From looking at past feedback, "all on CD" has been right there in the title of these listings for a long time.

I think calling the buyer illiterate would the case. Since you are not the seller, here's the listing, description and feedback for posterity. The description couldn't contain more detail to indicate the listing is for 5 books on 1 CD.

Seller should have gotten eBay to remove the feedback instead of posting a reply.  Clearly, the title and description say this is for a CD, not the original books.

I have read quite a few postings on Reddit from experienced eBay sellers, and they say that eBay will indeed remove negative feedback if it is unjustified.

That 97.4% does not look good at all, and the angry reply does not look good, either.  The worst thing was disparaging eBay in the reply.  That probably will not help seller's case when trying to get the negative feedback removed.
