About a year ago, I was lucky enough to acquire 2 telephones from Argentina, a Standard Electric B111A (same as BTMC 2724), and this Standard Electric B5111A, a cosmetically updated version of the B111A, insides are the same, but with new handset, housing, and dial bezel. These telephones were made by Standard Electric, for ENTel, Empresa Nacional Telecomunicaciones de Argentina, founded in 1948, privatized in 1990. The dial face is still in great condition (when worn, the paint is scratched off and there is no way to restore the numbers or the dots). Some of these phones had dials whose fingerwheels were solid metal like this one, black plastic, maybe bakelite?, and clear plastic. The housing is a hard plastic and the handset is bakelite. The seller from whom I purchased it brought it from Argentina when he moved to the U.S. for his job, which is why I was lucky to acquire this unique telephone.
