Good afternoon members.  I have been on this board for some time and have decided to sell my small but eclectic collection of vintage phones.  Ideally I would like to sell as a complete collection and have the buyer come to my home for pick-up.  I know this limits my sale base but offering these phones for sale individually would be just too cumbersome for me.  I am going to post only one pic of the collection so as not to overwhelm the board. Before I go to the trouble of preparing a list I would like to see if there would be any interested buyers. I can tell you that all my phones are in excellent condition with no damage with the exception of a lagging dial or other minor flaws.  I live in NJ off the GSP Exit 91A and can easily accommodate buyers busy schedules.  I have been out of the hobby for some time but if you look at the pic I have some great hard to find phones. I'm not so sure of the values but I'm not giving them away. Before I go to the trouble of making a list, please let me know if there is any interest from you members.  Thank in advance for reading and have a great day. Joel.    Astoriajoel@gmail.com

What exactly is this one circled in the photo, is it a toy?
Seems too small to be real but, looks real in the photo.

Hi.  Sorry I did not answer sooner.  I assumed inquiries came directly to my e-mail Yes that is a toy bank that I forgot to take out of the photo.

I am in Connecticut but the top north west corner and I don't make it to NY/NJ area often but I sure do like the look of them princess phones. I recently started collecting more of them  :D
If something comes up and I have to travel I will definitely PM you.

Thanks.  I'm genuinely surprised there is no interest.  Maybe I need a better pic?  I have some really great phones (all in mint condition) including 3 10 button phones, a green 1955 500 with original gray line cords, a Stromberg Carlson fat boy and a NIB Kellogg Red bar.  Oh well, I guess my kids will get stuck with them lol.

Those 10 button DTMF phones are worth at least $100 each but finding someone who might be interested in buying a "lot" of phones has at least a couple of issues.

The universe of large lot buyers is small, they would most likely be buying them for resale (at a profit) and what they would be willing to pay for them would be at least 50% of what they think they can get for them, selling one at a time.

Best way to sell is one at a time on eBay or other selling sites to individual buyers (collectors). It's a time consuming large effort task. A collector might be looking for that one phone they still need and be willing to pay market plus shipping for it.

It was difficult to sell a large lot of phones 15 to 20 years ago and back then the large lots sold for pennies on the dollar.

If you have "rare" phones in great condition, you might be surprised at what they would bring in an online open auction selling them one at a time.

Just my opinion based on watching the auction contests on this site, buying a lot of phones over time and trying to sell those phones after being restored.

Others may disagree and have their own opinion on your situation. Overall, collecting and restoring phone's is a lot of fun. Moving them on to the next owner is not.

Those princess phones might be of interest to myself if not for the five hour drive.... Naturally when I lived just over in PA from your area, no such opportunity existed  ::)

TELEPLAY :Thanks for the comments.  I absolutely agree with everything you said.  I have sold quite of few of my phones on EBAY and have received great responses from my buyers (astoria_joe) however with having to pay EBAY fees, finding boxes, shipping and the new tax laws it's just not worth the hassle anymore. My 1099K from last year combined with EBAY fees made it unprofitable as well.  I just thought I would throw it out there and see if I get responses.  Unfortunately I did not so alas I will move on and continue to dust the phones that I loved so much in the past and hope my kids treat them with the respect that they deserve when I'm gone. Again, your comment was spot on and I thank you for your reply.  Happy Holidays.  Joel
