I Remember the First Collectable Phone I Bought..... Do You?

I remember buying a Western Electric D1 at a salvage shop in 1980 and having the proprietor
ask me what do I want that old piece of junk for? Strange right, I paid $5 for it
and had for many years until it just got lost somewhere along the way. Don't really remember
what be came of it.

My first "purchased" phone is a black 302 dated sometime in 47.  I still have it, but I would have to dig it out of the mountains of junk that we have.  This was in the mid 70s, so these weren't yet really that collectable.
