I go this at Brimfield yesterday, looks like it was never used. There are no leads.

White paint is still on the wood and the varnish is cracking in places.

This is very heavy.

Any idea of what leads would go with this beauty!

Any info would be greatly appreciated...Doug

Doug that is a nice meter.
the thumb screws would have either forks, or a pin to go through a hole in the post when unscrewed???
Can't see the side...
Prob a standard black and red set of wires for that beauty.
With the stubby wide gator type clips, can't remember the correct name for them?
Not sure what they would have been measuring at up to 150 tho???

Beautiful meter Doug. It looks like brand new.

Doug,

Just saw this post. I had asked about it in the Brimfield post earlier.
Looks like a field volt meter. It's awesome! And all original finish.
Connect a magneto to it and check out the voltage.
Wait, a magneto would be AC current, so forget that.
Awesome find!

thanks guys, I was stunned to see it at such a bargain price of $30

If anyone has any leads that would be appropriate for it, let me know....Doug

I love those wood cased meters. Even though it has a handle on it, it is not portable.(not as rugged as a Simpson 260) Those were usually used on a bench in a lab where a reasonably precise measurement was needed. Any kind of wire could be used with that as long as you can differentiate between + and -.  The binding posts usually have a big hole in it to stick the wire in and tighten down the cap. A 9 volt battery will show a reading on it if it's in working order.

This type is the most often used test lead wire.  I looked it up as I need to get some.  I have a couple of 40 year sets that are starting to deteriorate.
