I am confident that this phone, if it sells, will sell by way of a low offer. Wow!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Cast-Metal-Emergency-Incoming-Bat-Phone-Presidents-Desk-Super-Rare-wow/223335806890
Seller Description: "As is. Untested -- This phone would be amazingly cool refurbished -- Fast Free Shipping -- Please see photos for cosmetic details"
Not sure what the "Presidents" reference in the listing title means. Just a sad looking phone waiting for a Steampunk buyer.
On the bright side, it is free shipping and the feet look good.
It has been on for months
and for only 89$ it could be yours!
Free shipping included a box big enough to ship it in. Packing is extra....
Well...it is a metal case. I offered 10 dollars. Let's see what the seller's basement looks like.
Well that was fun. A real determined seller. My offer was countered with 70.00. I offered 11.00 explaining the cost and time required to refurbish this versus the actual value once completed. He countered with 69.00. I made a final offer of 12.00 with no comment. The final counter offer was 68.00 which I declined with just "No, sorry" as my comment. Good times!
The only resemblance to a Batphone is that the Batphone was red.
;D $15!
I offered him $18.35, $5 for the phone and $13.35 for shipping, I felt a reasonable offer seeing its condition and the the missing capacitor holder screw, and who knows what else is missing thanks to no pictures of the inside (a good indication that more may be missing).
He countered with $69.
In my book, he just bought the phone for $69. Hope he likes it.
I wouldn't pay $10.00 at a yard sale. I would probably pay $5.
Jim
He also had a manual Red 500 that he was selling as an emergenvy, presidential Batphone as well. I posted about both of them back in July:

I'd do five for sure, but maybe a little more. But he's stuck with a colorful paper weight.
I would go twenty for the500 with a blank!
The offers the seller received, and rejected, must have started him thinking. He's taken the drastic step of reducing the BIN price by 5%.
I vote for the first half of this topic title.
Should we make the a CRPF game, like the auction contest, just we see how far down he goes? Or how long it gets reposted?
I'll bet all the forum-related views and low offers have only convinced him that he has a prize there. I don't think we should underestimate the number of years that item could remain listed.... ;)

I first posted about the 2 "Emergency, Presidential, Bat" phones back in July 2018: http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=20813.msg212992#msg212992
Nearly 2 years now and still no buyer! I don't understand why they are not selling ???
I noticed that it was back. Apparently so did many other forum members.
Someone should offer to sell him a replacement cap and transmitter element.
Jim
I sent him the link to this thread.
Dumb seller.... most likely a desperate antique dealer.... I've been pricing the 302's and am finding alot of them around $25.00... and in alot better condition then that one.... will people ever learn???
The red 500 w/ dial blank sold for $100. More than I would of paid, but a red manual WE 500 is a bit hard to find.

Could you add a screenshot of the eBay listing please Jim, can't find it in seller 'sold' history.
I got sassy and offered a dollar.... ;D
I paid almost $100 for my 564 in red.... hard color to come by in key sets... still wanting the light blue and yellow.... someone wants $145.00 for the blue, but no go for me! its been reconditions by another collector and he wants his money out of it.... good luck with that!

The seller sent me a message regarding this thread. He said to point out the red set sold for $100.

I see, thanks. Guess he must have sold it outside of eBay, that's why no sold history.
He said it sold more than 90 days ago
