All Other Pay Telephones / Re: Elcotel payphone board
Last post by Westrex - Yesterday at 09:41:14 PM
You can buy a new Elcotel Series 5 board here and the 6V battery for the board here. I also noticed that it looks very similar to this phone I found in Texas. Must've been the same provider.

Hope this helps,

I recently purchased a WE 2554 it has modular connectors with 4 conductors for handset. I bought an 80s vintage g6 volume control handset to use with this phone. It has 3 conductors. When I plug the the 3 conductor g6 handset into the phone the person I am talking with hears very low volume. A 4 conductor handset works perfectly on this phone. Is there a fix for this 3 conductor handset attaching to a 4 conductor phone?

Wanted / WANTED: large number of phones...
Last post by chconnor - Yesterday at 07:35:47 PM
Hi -- I'm looking to acquire a large number of working phones (currently 10's of phones, possibly more later). This is not for hoarding/trading/resale purposes, but rather a small business (providing phones for folks to actually use). We don't need fancy collectors items, just basic working phones. If anyone is sitting on a tranche of phones and wants to discuss, let me know. Thanks!

I recently obtained a black canadian ATC Candelstick and disassembled it in order to clean it. when I reassembled it the dial wired with the brown lead unknown. I jogged my memory and tried a ITT shortcut which worked! the phone is working fine now...
