This appeared in the only edition of the  local newspaper today. The article is behind a paywall, text can't be copied either. I used Google lens instead. Sorry for blurry pics and the awkward translation to English.

In brief: The booth was gifted to the City of Dortmund/Germany by it's twin city, Leeds, in 1979. It was installed on a smaller central square, which was named "Platz von Leeds" at this opportunity. A (standard German) payphone was installed inside and was open to the public. In 2006 it was taken down and stored at a city council facility. Now it has been restored and was re-erected in front of a museum presenting industrial paint, located at the canal port of Dortmund not far from the city centre..
