I have an Auto Elect & Stromberg Carlson candlesticks with bridge/diaphragm that I guess were in since???? I want to install later type transmitters. For example I've seen adds for T1's F1's used with two sided tape "adapters" that are wire soldered to the transmitter. Of course anyone with a soldering tool can make this. Any thoughts or suggestions.

If the original transmitter is still working, I would leave it in place to keep it authentic.  Replacing the transmitter may make the phone more usable, but it will reduce its value as an antique.

Same thing goes on with classic cars - they want to put LS engines in 40s Chevys, with the computers and all.  Yes, it makes the car much faster, but it destroys it's value

We have different values  ;) For me the money I may get for it does not alway count, if it is a phone I want to use.  Then those in the other end should hear me well. :)

My oldest phone in regulary use has got a new trensmitter, and the original one is in the cabinet.

Yes I understand the "keeping it original" part goes, but improving the receiving and/or transmitting on the candle stick sure makes it more fun & usable. Ruff example would be hydraulic vs mechanical brakes on antique cars.Anyway with all that said, I am also convinced that even with everything working as new in the 1920ish candlestick will not have the 2025 receiving transmitting quality.
