I have been thinking about adding a WE elevator phone to my collection. The problem was how to display it. I was thinking about trying to find a metal box to fit or building a wooden one. Nether option seemed like a great way to do it. Yesterday I came across one on eBay in the correct box! I offered $70 and got it! There is no better way to display it! The estimated delivery date is Sept 2nd so it will be a while before I get to clean it up. I am attaching a picture from the auction and will add more later.

Ive been wanting one of these myself but, the last one I seen was without it's original case.
Good for you Harry!

I have seen a lot of them on eBay but this is the only one I ever saw still mounted in the box.

That's great, I've never seen one with the box, usually the boxes stay with the elevator.

When was yours made?  It seems that these were made much longer than the other 300 series.

You are correct, once in a lifetime find I beleive.. I cannot beleive how lucky I have been on eBay lately. Found the Red 302 cheap and now this. I do not know the date yet. The auction pictures do not show the insides. Once I get it I will update this topic.

Dated from 1962. A few pictures attached.

It looks so much older than 1962.  I would have guessed 1950s or earlier.

I got the elevator phone cleaned up and tested. Ready for display. It has a strange sounding buzzer in it instead of a ringer that I did not notice until I tested it. Probably made quite a racket when mounted in an elevator wall.

Great find Harry! I never knew I needed an elevator phone until now!

I hate those "elevator certificate is on file in the office" signs.  I assume the inspection is out of date, and that is why they are hiding it.  I feel safer when I see the signed and dated inspection certificate posted right there in the elevator, where it is supposed to be.
