R.I.P. Steve Hilsz

It had been brought up recently on the TCI Email Group that Steve was going to be in the hospital and rehab for a while. Not the update anyone was hoping for.

Sad news.  I just got a call from Barb, with the news that Steve had passed away this morning.  The cancer was further along than they thought.   Barb and Lorie were there.

No services are planned, as per his wishes.    There are no words to express what I feel, but to say. Steve was my best friend, and I will miss him and our road trips very much !

This is sad news, him and I never met but, we'd have long conversations on the phone
and I thought of him as a friend. We hadn't talked in some time and this is the first
time of me hearing about his illness and passing, may God Bless him.

I'm not sure how to give him the honor he deserves, but he has been a nice and helpful man to me and countless others.

What a shame.  I never met him, but It bet he was a nice guy, as he never raised his prices.  I hope he is in heaven and free of pain now.  Rest In Piece kind sir.

I share the group's grief at Steve's passing.
 
 In addition to his legendary repair expertise, I enjoyed hearing about his salvage operations - especially on naval vessels.
 
 Steve was interviewed for an article in the June 2008 issue of Singing Wires, starting on page 4. It's available for all to read in a sample issue posted on the TCI site here:
