that transmitter mount is Kellogg. Look underneith to look for WE mounting holes

Phonatic

I have not seen this variation of a W.E. stick transmitter.  I'm unsure if it's a 997 or 397.  What is its story?

Phonatic . . . you know, like "lunatic."

Here is a 349 transmitter marked only "349" on the banana badge.  The cup is marked "Western Electric Made in USA." It came with a brass threaded reinforced mouthpiece.  The page is from TCI  where the WE 1925 catalog describes the transmitter as intended for train dispatching with a "low resistence button" I do not see on this transmitter and it seems like it is the 359 that came with the heavy duty mouthpiece. Not sure that all these parts were originally mated as this transmitter was found mounted on a Kellogg short arm.
