Western Electric 1C2 RJ11?

Hi Everyone!  New to the forum and new to pay phone collecting in general and was hoping to get some help from more knowledgeable members.  Through sheer luck, I got my hands on a Western Electric Bell System 1C2 payphone.  Cleaned it as best I could, rewired/replaced handset cords for an armored version, installed the lock, etc.

The thing that has me stumped is how to get this to work for home use.  I checked the back of the unit and do not see an RJ11 jack.  I'm assuming I need to buy a modular RJ11 jack and wire it myself?  Or am I just not seeing it?  If I need to wire it to an RJ11, how do I go about that (location of wires)?

Below are a few pictures.  Looking forward to everyone's help.

Before anyone will be able to help you, you will need to post some photos of the inside.  And it probably won't be as simple as adding a cord.  The complexity will depend on whether you want to have it make free calls, or to actually accept coins.

For reference, the thread below discusses connecting a similar model.

Thank you so much!  I'll post some pictures of the inside later today and check out the thread you referenced.  I think I found the tip and ring terminals and do have some 6p2c RJ11 connectors I can try.

On a side note, hopefully someone can help me better identify my phone model?  It says 1C on the back, but all the other 1C2s I see have a chrome faceplate, while mine seems to have the whole front cover top assembly made of chrome all around?  Strange...

Here is another picture of the outside and a few of the insides.  I was able to find tip and ring terminals, wired an RJ11, and could connect but:

1. Can dial outbound, but very hard to hear (low volume) and other party can't hear me.
2. On inbound, the phone does not ring and same issue with volume.
3.  Calls do not pick up or hang up when hung or lifted from receiver.

The tip ring and ground terminals are the three screws about the pink box on the main chassis. Top is red, middle is green and the bottom screw is ground. Tip and ring to the phone line. No ground needed just drop a coin in the payphone so the the coin trigger in the hopper us down. You should get a dial tone and be able to make and receive calls. Of course the coin mechanism won't work without the high voltage to trigger the coin relay to reset, collect or return your deposit.

Thanks, @Stan!   Will try that with the coin chute.

Made a few changes and took some steps forward but some steps back as well:

1. Have a dial tone (I didn't this morning), but phone won't dial outbound using the touchpad (weird, since I could dial outbound this morning).
2. Can now receive calls by picking up the receiver, and hang up the receiver to end call.
3. Other party can now hear me and I can hear them (however, volume continues to be pretty low - do I just need to clean up the contacts behind the touchpad?)
4. Ringer works!

So as you can see, I gained the things I was missing earlier, but lost the ability to use touchtone to dial out?  I press the buttons but the dial tone does not stop.

Any suggestions for resolving my pending issues?

Try depositing the initial amount in the phone every time after you lift the handset and see if the situation changes. The totalizer might have to be satisfied for the phone to work properly. There is a device that I manufacture that allows those payphones to operate the way they did when they were in service. However, that's a different situation. I never played with these payphones as just a standard desk set. A payphone should be a PAY phone.

Did you try reversing the incoming line wires (red and green)?
