i have 2 key sets that i'm combining the best of each to yield one restored phone set.
before i disassemble each, i'm wondering if anyone has experience with the compatibility of these two
the bases (plates) (chassis) ...
   565G+
   564

are they interchangeable?   the network appears to be rivot-mounted (luckily both networks are good)

thank you!

According to Paul F's site, the 565 has an exclusion key, the 564 does not.
So, if you want the exclusion key, you will need to keep the 565 wiring.

thank you - i wasn't clear about i just want to swap the base (plate).
it appears they are compatible/the same, but i wanted to see if others had prior experience.

re-wiring to accommodate exclusion is fine... good to know if that's the only difference.

There are other differences:

1. Both the rotary dial and Touch-Tone pad have extra contacts to mute the speaker (if present).

2. The mounting cord has 50 conductors rather than 30 or 34. This provided 2 pairs for exclusion and 3 pairs for the speakerphone, and separate ground for each lamp, rather than a common ground bus.

It's always best to compare the BSPs for the sets in question to determine differences. There is often interesting info in the text, and there may be several wiring diagrams showing multiple connection options. If there are multiple issues of a BSP, select one near the date of your phone.

Reference BSP numbers can be found in the chart here:

...and the BSPs can often be found in the TCI Library by searching for the BSP number, for example:
